Lorenza Maggio has been appointed as the new Vice President Sales EMEA Lufthansa Group Airlines. Started 1 January 2024, Ms. Maggio is taking over the responsibility of all commercial and sales activities of the various airline brands across all European countries outside the home markets, the Middle East region and Africa (EMEA). In this new function Lorenza Maggio will head the commercial business in this region out of Munich for the Group airlines Lufthansa, SWISS, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines and Discover Airlines. She will also support the B2B sales activities of Eurowings in this region. In addition, Ms. Maggio and her teams manage and develop the global sales programs and sustainability projects for B2B partners. Furthermore, she is responsible for the sales communication of the group worldwide.

Lorenza Maggio succeeds Alain Chisari, who has already assumed a leading position in the project management for the preparation of the Lufthansa Group's participation in ITA. In this new task, she reports to Frank Naeve, Senior Vice President Global Markets and Stations at the Lufthansa Group. In her new role, Ms. Maggio will continue to further strengthen the positioning of the Lufthansa Group’s airline brands in this vast and diverse region. The Lufthansa Group offers not only the most comprehensive route network in Europe but continues to have a strong presence in key markets throughout the Middle East and Africa.

“With Lorenza Maggio, we appointed an extremely creative and accomplished leader with a strong spirit for aviation and international business relations,” said Frank Naeve. “I have full confidence that she will further strengthen the Lufthansa Group and improve the various communication channels in this very diverse region. Having an ample expertise in marketing, management, and sales, she brings the perfect mixture and mindset to further develop our dynamic business in this important sales area.”

Lorenza Maggio can look back on a long career in the airline industry. She joined from Eurowings, where she was responsible for the airline's overall brand and customer strategy. Prior to this, Ms. Maggio was Managing Director and Board Member at Evertaste (LSG Group). In the years prior to that, she held several management positions in different countries in the areas of operations, sales, marketing, and business development. Lorenza Maggio is Italian and holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in International Hospitality Management from the École Hôtelière de Lausanne as part of her education.

“I am very excited to take over the sales responsibility for the Lufthansa Group in EMEA. Bringing in the dynamic and pragmatism of a Point-to-Point budget airline I will also contribute to the sales organization from my gained experience in marketing. My markets spanning over three continents have a very different setup and are quite diverse. This is indeed a challenge and a strength at the same time. I will leverage many years of experience in the different fields of the Lufthansa Group to drive innovation, prioritizing continual enhancement of our customer approach and offerings in all markets to enrol further successes,” says Lorenza Maggio.
